Jupiter. (Idea from "Jupiter the Bringer of Joviality" by Gustav Holst.)

Suitable for all ages.

King of all the land,
King of heaven and earth.
Your subjects are as plentiful as sand,
You are fair and full of mirth.

This ballroom's full-
We celebrate what you have achieved:
Defeat and death of Heaven's great bull,
It was you who tricked, deceived

And then killed
The great beast. This is why
This ballroom's filled-
The banners of Hope, Truth and Justice now fly.

(Author's note: I submitted this for a competition in 1996, and it reached Semi-Finalist in the International Library of Poety's annual competition, 1997.)
